Education at Center of Hope Orphanage

Where we were then
It is estimated that only 60% of the Haitian populations has the ability to read and write. We believe that part of the future of Haiti is helping the future generation become literate so that they can make a positive impact for their future. In the fall of 2021, a school was established for the students at Center Hope Orphanage.
Where we are now
We educate students Spiritually through Bible teaching and worship. Our desire is that they love God and love others. This is how the future generation can make a difference in Haiti. 1 Corinthians 13 says “if I don’t have love, I am just a clanging cymbal.”
We also employ 10 teachers. These teachers educate the students in reading, writing, science, and mathematics with the goal for them to pass the national exam in Haiti. We want to break the cycle of illiteracy and help this future generation.
Where we are going
There are a number of areas in area of education that need improvement.
- Teacher Pay and Training – Our teachers love the students and are working very hard for little to no pay. We would like to make sure our teachers are paid on a regular basis for the work they do. We would also like to provide teacher training for them to improve their skills. This will also allow them to find additional work which is a win for them and their community.
- School room – We are working at raising funds to build a multi purpose building which will house a school as well as a boys dormitory.
- Books and Supplies – Basic supplies are needed such as pencils and notebooks for the students. We are also wanting to purchase books for the students as needed for each subject they are learning.
Your gift of $50 per month will cover the cost of a private education for a student at Center of Hope Orphanage.
