Many people have been asking what the current needs are at Center Hope Orphanage.
The list is long. It’s not glamorous or flashy. It’s just a simple reality.
It’s a tough task to feed, clothe, educate, and shelter 75 growing children in an impoverished country with limited resources.
Over the years we have seen God provide shelter, food, water, and clothes through generous people. We believe, as the need is shown, He can do it again.
Here are some tangible ways you can help:
1. Mattresses
The orphanage is in desperate need of mattresses. The children currently sleep on the floor. They have bunk beds but need mattresses placed on them.
Cost per mattress – $100
Number of mattresses needed – 50
Total cost – $5,000

2. Repairs to the Dorm
There are 3 major repairs needed on the dorm for the children.
- Repair a water leak in the roof.
- Extend the wall all the way to the roof. This wall divides the boys side from the girls side.
- Finish a stairwell leading to the second floor. There are no railings and this is a hazard for the children. (The second floor is part of an ongoing building project)
Cost – $3,000

3. Clothes and Shoes
It has been a few years since the children have had new clothes and shoes. In Haiti, clothes and shoes are handed down and made to last. But the children have grown, and the clothes have worn out and need replaced.
Cost – $40 per child
Total cost – $3,000
4. Wages for Workers
This is an ongoing monthly expense, but we have currently fallen behind in paying them. Between the 2 orphanages and school, there are 5 workers and 9 teachers.
These workers and teachers care for the 75 orphans and 250 students at the school.
The monthly salary for all 14 workers totals to $1600 a month.
We have not been able to pay them anything since July.
Cost – $1600 a month
5. Manna Packs
We have partnered with Mission of Hope, and have been placed on the list to be able to receive Manna Packs for the school and orphanage.
For many children in the school, this is the only meal they receive per day.
This nutrition program allows us to provide food, vitamins, health education, and hope in Jesus to a generation in need.
It provides one meal to the students every school day. The cost for each student per MONTH is around $6.
Cost – $1500 per month
Feeds – 250 students a day for a month.
Additional Information
All the gifts that are given are sent through Christ’s Provisions, a 501c3. Christ’s Provisions does not charge any fee for this. They send the funds directly to Donald Joseph, the head of the orphanage, in Haiti.
There are no administrative fees. All of the funds (other than some bank fees) go directly to the needs mentioned.
